This is another shot from the same basic location as the image ‘Courtney in Field’ mentioned in the last post, and again taken by Tina Gianos. The lighting was changed to a cross lighting scenario for Aaron to add some visual interest. There were two strobes on Aaron, one on each side and slightly to the rear, about 6′ from Aaron and at sholder height. They were both set about 3/4 of a stop over the normal exposure value, and standard reflectors were used. This gave the image some ‘pop’ coming from the side, but where the light falls off and overlaps on the front, it creates a zone of normal exposure (across the face, clothing, etc). This lighting style is well suited for this subject matter. The power was provided by a generator we used to run three different strobe setups at the location for the participants of the workshop. I think Tina did an excellent job at catching the right from Aaron to set the overall mood of the image.
